What it is

The European Commission approved the Innovation and Digital Transition Thematic Programme (COMPETE 2030) for the next programming period 2021-2027.

Through this Programme, COMPETE 2030 has an allocation of 3.904 billion euros of European funds to finance investments essentially in the North, Centre and Alentejo regions, of which 3.504 billion euros are ERDF and 400 million euros ESF.

The Programme is made up of 3 Strategic Objectives which are linked to the Priorities and Specific Objectives. COMPETE 2030, intervening only in the convergence regions, takes on a thematic agenda of promoting the competitiveness of the national economy, both by investing in R&I and by promoting sustainability and energy autonomy, with the qualification of business assets being an instrument in this strategy.

The conditions to be met by those wishing to apply are defined in the general regime for the application of Portugal 2030 European funds, in the specific regulations approved by the Portugal 2030 Interministerial Coordination Commission and in the calls for proposals.
